Kai was born and raised in Germany. He began his professional life there as a design engineer, running a busy engineering company. In 1995 he emigrated to Australia to marry the love of his life, and today he and his wife are the proud parents of two wonderful teenage daughters. He plays lead guitar with his band, has a passion for meditation, and also enjoys kite-surfing in summer. Having had a lifelong interest in Natural Therapies, Kai then made the decision to embark on a mid-life career change. He studied his Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) at Endeavour College in Adelaide, and at graduation he received the National Award for Academic Excellence. Since graduating Kai has continued to extend his professional education in Traditional Chinese Medicine by attending workshops and seminars, and through his involvement in a Community Clinic. He has developed a particular passion for psycho-emotional modalities, in particular 5 – element acupuncture which blends both physical and emotional aspects of illness and disease. In addition to acupuncture Kai also practices therapies such as cupping, moxibustion and tuina – massage, as well as incorporating nutrition and Chinese Herbal Medicines. These therapies are a valuable extension to acupuncture practice, allowing him to broaden the scope of his treatments and focus on achieving real results. Kai is a skilled acupuncturist with a gentle and caring nature. His clinical work centres on achieving the very best outcome for his patients, not just physically, but also emotionally, and he describes part of his role as being a “heart with ears” and establishing genuine connections with people.
