If you are going through IVF you want to give yourself the very best chance of becoming pregnant. A healthy diet, appropriate exercise, reduced stress levels, maintaining a healthy body weight and having acupuncture will not only help you achieve a successful outcome with IVF but will also help you through the IVF process itself. With more than a decade of direct experience helping couples through IVF, Well2 is recommended by Adelaide’s leading Fertility Specialists and is Adelaide’s trusted clinic for IVF support.
Fertility Support consultations are a one-off session conducted by our Naturopath and are recommended for all IVF and Natural Fertility clients. The purpose of this consultation is to review your individual case and provide you with some recommendations based on your specific needs. These recommendations will include fertility diet recommendations, stress reduction ideas, a discussion on exercise and other lifestyle impacts, as well as a review of any supplements you may be taking. At this consultation we will also discuss with you a tailored treatment plan based on your individual needs. We encourage you to come to this appointment as a couple, but it is also fine to come on your own. Your individual IVF support plan will be based on your specific needs and will be fully discussed with you. A Fertility Support Consultation is recommended but is not compulsory, so if you just wish to book in for a specific therapy that is also possible.
Acupuncture is recommended for all IVF cycles. You can read more about acupuncture for IVF support on our IVF Acupuncture page
If you are overweight or underweight this will almost certainly affect the potential success of your IVF treatment, and overweight males have just as much impact on overall success as females. Our dietitian can help you with appropriate weight management ensuring that optimal nutritional status is maintained. We can also help with dietary management if you are vegetarian, vegan or have a medical condition such as coeliac disease or food allergies which require you to remove foods from your diet. Our dietitian can arrange couples appointments or individual sessions.
Stress can be a major factor for fertility clients in general. For those undergoing IVF the stress can be compounded by the process itself. Repromed and some of the other IVF centres provide free counselling for their clients, and we would encourage you to take advantage of this service. For those who need some extra assistance, Well2 has a Psychologist who can provide assistance through counselling. Hypnotherapy, also provided at Well2 by our clinical psychologist, may be useful for stress management for clients who are feeling especially anxious. There is research evidence demonstrating increased pregnancy rates in patients who used hypnotherapy with their IVF cycles. Hypnotherapy is also an excellent tool to help you quit smoking and further improve your fertility.
Why the choice of natural IVF support clinic matters
If you’re choosing a clinic for your IVF support there are a number of things to consider. IVF support is a very specialised field and the therapists treating you needs to be skilled and experienced in this area. IVF can also be stressful, so a caring and understanding practitioner can be the difference between and good experience and a poor one.
Well2 has specialised in IVF support for more than a decade and is the clinic recommended by leading IVF Specialists in Adelaide. Our practitioners are all highly skilled and experienced in IVF support and have many years of experience in this specialised field. Knowing that the clinic uses treatment methods that have been validated through scientifically sound research trials gives extra reassurance. We have now assisted more than a thousand couples through their IVF experience and seen many hundreds of beautiful babies come into the world.
Getting started with IVF support
A Fertility Support Consultation is the best place to start for IVF support, and this consultation can take place at any time. Ideally this appointment will take place soon after you know you are starting with your reproductive centre. Making nutritional and lifestyle changes early gives your body time to get the best results. If you are only making the decision to do some IVF support close to your IVF cycle, that is still fine as short term support is more beneficial than no support at all. Information about starting acupuncture for IVF is on our IVF Acupuncture page.
